About New to Cyprus
New to Cyprus is the practical companion for buying, moving to and living in Cyprus. We pair free, officially-sourced guides with lawyer-backed self-serve services, so you can sort the boring, stressful paperwork without overpaying or guessing.
Why we exist
Most people arriving in Cyprus face the same wall: conflicting forum advice, estate-agent gloss, and a choice between an expensive full-service lawyer or a risky do-it-yourself attempt. We built the sensible middle — clear guides you can trust, free tools that save you a trip, and a permit service that checks your documents against current rules before you file, with an optional licensed-lawyer sign-off when you want the extra certainty.
How we work
Honest before optimistic
We tell you what a step actually costs, how long it really takes, and where it commonly goes wrong — even when that is less flattering than the brochure version.
Official sources, dated
Fees, deadlines and legal requirements trace back to gov.cy, the Civil Registry and Migration Department, GeSY and the Land Registry — checked against the date on the page, not a forum thread.
Real, named people
Every guide carries a real byline. Lived-experience content is written by someone who lived it; legal content is written and reviewed by a licensed Cyprus advocate.
Greek-side only
We only deal with Republic-of-Cyprus property and title. We never touch property in the occupied north, where title is the real risk.
The detail of how we source and check facts lives in our editorial standards.
Who writes this
Every guide carries a real, named byline — never a faceless corporate voice. Authority is split by genuine competence:
- Volha Bendzik
Relocation & Living Editor
Moved to Cyprus in 2022 with three children. Writes the family-relocation, schools and everyday-living guides from lived experience.
- Harris Koufettas
Legal Author & Reviewer · Cyprus Advocate
Advocate of the Cyprus Bar Association and Managing Partner of Koufettas Law. Writes and reviews the immigration, permit and tax guides.
Our company family
New to Cyprus is part of the DigiCare Insurance family. DigiCare is our disclosed parent company. We tell you this openly because it is the honest thing to do: where we mention insurance, you should know who is behind the recommendation.
We are not a law firm. Legal review and sign-off on our lawyer-reviewed services are provided by Koufettas Law, a licensed Cyprus law firm and our disclosed legal partner. The guides on this site are general information, not legal or financial advice for your individual case.
New to Cyprus is operated by [LEGAL OPERATING ENTITY], part of the DigiCare Insurance family. Registered office: [REGISTERED ADDRESS]. Questions? See our contact page.
